Match the Following

An Angle Blur

There are names of people. They are beautiful. They make you feel good. A name that sounds beautiful for me may not be for you. A name makes you think of the person in a particular way.

If you haven’t seen the faces of these people or heard their voices, you imagine how their faces may be; how their voices may sound.

There are faces of people. Again, some are beautiful and some are ugly. Some in between. The ones that are easily forgotten. You sense an attraction towards some face; repulsion from some. A face makes you think of the person in a particular way.

If you haven’t heard the voices of these people or don’t know their names, you imagine how the voices may be; what the names may be.

There are voices of people. Some are sweet soothing, some stuttering and nervous. Some shrill voices, some baritone. They say, a face or a name may change; but a voice never does. A voice makes you think of the person in a particular way.

If you haven’t seen the faces of these people or know of their names, you imagine how their faces may be; what the names may be.

When was the last time a face, a name and a voice were exactly the way you had imagined?

  1. i don’t ever recall it having happened with me. i wonder if it is owing to me inherent tendency to spot the so called ‘faults’ first, than look at the beauty of things?

  2. this is an amazing post.. beauty… no, it has not happened to me often. but the exercise is better than the end, the whole imagining part of what voice could fit what face, and reverse, is a joyful timepass. 😀
